Great success for Tourism Investment 2017

A great participation success for the IV edition of Tourism Investment, that took place the last 4th April at Hotel Melià Milano. Mediterranean area and Italy in particular were the focus of the forum dedicated to the tourism real estate. The program, full of appointments - with overviews on the market trends, on italian and foreign bank investments, on relationships between operators and banks and a reflection on investment conditions - met the interest of the player of the sector. The new trends of innovation, design and wellness in hospitality sector were presented, as well as the drivers of the growth of italian brands. During the opening conference, that focused on the real estate in Italy, Michael Widmann from PKF hotelexperts explained that "in Italy politics didn't help the sector. Players in the sector have to count on young people, women and new ideas". Alessandra Priante, responsible for international relations of MIBACT, replied that "actually government is changing, as are demonstrating the guidelines of the new Strategic Plan that supports tourism and hotel businesses, with incentives and a modern plan that supports digitalization".
The State Property Agency tries to attract foreign investors: "There are many valuable assets located in strategical places - explained Stefano Mantella from State Property Agency-: villas and historical buildings, coastal structures and ex-barracks. During 2015 and 2016, 29 coastal structures went to competition announcement and in 2017 the Agency decided to concentrate on territorial realities far away from traditional tourism flows. Also CDP is doing its part- - recalled Mantella - with a dedicate fund". Confindustria Alberghi is treating the theme of investments and from some years collaborate with State Property Agency for the project " Valore Paese", as well as with CDP, Ice and other realities: " We brought Italy and its touristic assets in Berlin and Moscow - said the president Giorgio Palmucci-. During the year we will promote the offer of our associates to an international public and we can confirm a strong interest from foreign investors". The president of Federalberghi Lazio Walter Pecoraro talked about the sharing economy, calling it "shadow economy" and asking to the government and to institutions "a relief of burocracy and clear rules for all".Founders of Tourism Investment are PKF and AboutHotel.
